Of course these are professionals and I highly recommend never answering or engaging in ANY sort of exchange with these con artists. They are dangerous. Even a simple reply will mean that your email is alive and will be sold MANY times to all the spammers of the world! So instead of one or two "your email has won" or "help me smuggle 500 million) you will get all the nice "Enlarge your [Insert favorite body part here]" emails and a ton of other junk
Good point, though for some people it's difficult to get any other kind of message in their in-boxes regardless.
Couple of years ago, when this type of trickery was not so known about, there was a pensioner here in Czech rep. who lost all his life savings. He then went and shot nigerian ambassador.
I remember that story now. So sad for all involved. I've seen a number of news reports on TV where the reporter baits a scammer and films them when they reveal he's been tricked himself and it makes for entertaining television. It's nice to see justice served in small isntances... Like when a cop baits a pedophile online. One small victory brings a little bit of hope.
